Description
Arthrex BioComposite Interference Screws
The BioComposite Interference Screw is comprised of 30% biphasic calcium phosphate and 70% PLDLA and is intended for use as a fixation device for bone-tendon (BTB or Achilles) and soft tissue grafts during ACL and PCL reconstruction procedures.
Each screw has a stepped tapered design which maximizes insertion torque, as the screw is fully seated. The thread form has been optimized to ease insertion and maximize soft tissue and bone fixation in cortical and cancellous bone.

- FDA Product Code: HWC MAI
- FDA Product Code Name: Screw, Fixation, Bone / Fastener, fixation, biodegradable, soft tissue
- GMDN Term Code: 45039
- GMDN Term Name: Bioabsorbable orthopaedic bone screw
- GMDN Term Description: A small, threaded, implantable rod with a slotted head typically used for internal orthopaedic fracture fixation by being screwed into bone to hold plates or nails to bone or to provide direct interfragmentary stabilization of bone, or it may fasten soft tissue to bone; it is made of a material that is chemically degraded and typically absorbed via natural body processes (e.g., degradable polymers). There are several kinds available: cortical, cancellous, malleolar, scaphoid, partially-threaded and fully-threaded. A "lag screw" can be any of these used to obtain compression across bone fragments.
