Description
Medtronic Nellcor™ Forehead SpO2 Sensor
Offers significant advancement in patient safety monitoring. Nellcor™ forehead SpO2 sensor provides an effective monitoring option when digit sensors fail to obtain an SpO2 signal and detects changes in SpO2 notably earlier than digit sensors during poor perfusion conditions.
Product Code: MAXFAST
Features and Benefits
- Responds to changes in arterial oxygen saturation typically one to two minutes sooner than digit sensors for patients with weak pulses
- Maintains stronger signal integrity unlike ear sensors, which may cause pressure necrosis and are subject to vasoconstriction
- Easier access to the forehead than to the hands, especially in the operating room
- More accurate than all other ear, nose and forehead sensors
- Contains LoSat™ expanded accuracy range (60% to 100% SpO2) when used with a Nellcor™ pulse oximeter with OxiMax™ technology
- Effective for mechanically ventilated and supine patients
- Can be used for up to two days with appropriate site inspections and changes

- FDA Product Code: DQA
- FDA Product Code Name: Cranial Motion Measurement Device / Oximeter
- GMDN Term Code: 31658
- GMDN Term Name: Pulse oximeter probe, single-use
- GMDN Term Description: A photoelectric device designed to be applied externally to a body site (e.g., fingertip, ear lobe, bridge of nose, toe, or bridge of the foot) for the transcutaneous measurement of haemoglobin oxygen saturation (SpO2) in arterial blood using signals produced by a light-emitting diode (LED) and received by a photodetector. The signals are subsequently transmitted to an oximeter/monitor (not included) which measures and displays the SpO2. The is a single-use device.
