ULTRATAPE is a smooth suture tape, which when compared to a traditional #2 suture provides a 75% increase in tendon-to-bone contact while offering a significantly lower and more evenly distributed level of pressure
- Increased tendon-to-bone contact may result in an improved repair.
- Lower, more uniformly distributed level of compression could potentially reduce vascular restriction at the injury site after surgery.
- A wider suture construct may reduce the possibility of tissue cut-through in poor quality tendon tissue.
- The addition of a pre-loaded ULTRABRAID™ #2 suture on ULTRATAPE versions of HEALICOIL Suture Anchors allows for a variety of suturing options.
