Medtronic TYRX™ ABSORBABLE ANTIBACTERIAL ENVELOPE
Stabilizes CIED Placement and Helps Prevent CIED Infections
The TYRX™ Absorbable Antibacterial Envelope provides Perfect-Pocket™ Protection by securely holding CIEDs in place when implanted in the body in order to create a stable environment. The TYRX™ Absorbable Antibacterial Envelope reduces the chances of device migration, erosion, or Twiddler Syndrome.
It contains a combination of 2 antibacterial agents, minocycline and rifampin, which have been shown to reduce medical device infections. Synergistic, proven combination of minocycline and rifampin elute locally into the tissue pocket enabling pocket tissue concentration levels to reach the MIC level within 2 hours of implantation and which are maintained for at least 7 days.
