Synergy Surgical Helps Raise Over $270,000 at Stand-Up For A Cause to Support MATTER’s Global Mission
On November 15, 2024, Synergy Surgical played a pivotal role at Stand-Up For A Cause, contributing nearly $50,000 to help push the evening’s fundraising total beyond $270,000. This support directly advances MATTER’s mission to empower communities both locally and globally.
“It was an honor for all of us to attend the gala,” said Synergy Surgical founder and president Anthony Iaderosa. “It was a great group of people and we are proud of the work they are doing. We are looking forward to participating and attending the Zimbabwe trip.”
The event featured Zimbabwean comedian Learnmore Jonasi, whose performance filled the room with laughter. But beyond the humor, the night was a powerful showcase of resilience and transformation, highlighting the impact of MATTER’s initiatives.
“Tonight, I want to talk to you about something simple yet transformative,” said MATTER President Quenton Marty. “It’s the power of saying ‘yes.’ When spoken with a spirit of service and compassion, it’s a word that can change everything.”
One of the evening’s most inspiring stories was that of Sheryl, a young woman from Zimbabwe whose life took a remarkable turn thanks to MATTER’s programs. Facing limited opportunities in a country where unemployment exceeds 70%, Sheryl found her path at a MATTER Innovation Hub, where she developed skills in technology and leadership. From there, she advanced to the MATTER Career Readiness Center in Victoria Falls and secured an internship with a U.S. company. Today, she works remotely for Tradition Capital Bank in Minneapolis—a dream that once seemed unattainable.
“Sheryl’s life is forever changed because Dean Hager and Tradition Capital Bank said yes,” Marty noted, as the audience erupted in applause.
With support from Synergy Surgical and the generosity of attendees, the event reinforced MATTER’s vision for 2025, encouraging everyone to embrace the power of “yes” in transforming lives.
