Description
GORE-TEX® Vascular Grafts
Configured for Pediatric Shunts
In pediatric cardiac surgery, modified Blalock-Taussig shunts provide palliation of congenital heart defects prior to total correction.
GORE-TEX® Vascular Grafts configured for Pediatric Shunts are the choice of surgeons worldwide for use as shunts in pediatric cardiac procedures. GORE-TEX® Vascular Grafts offer such benefits as ease of implantation and take-down at total correction, good patency and avoidance of excessive shunt flow. The thin wall Stretch configuration provides kink resistance, improved handling, and better tissue approximation for use in neonates.
Larger diameter grafts are used in the extra-cardiac Fontan procedure and to palliate or correct interrupted aortic arch. They are available in a wide range of configurations.
