Description

Integra® NeuraGen® Nerve Guide

The NeuraGen® Nerve Guide is a resorbable implant for the repair of peripheral nerve discontinuities. NeuraGen® Nerve Guide provides a protective environment for peripheral nerve repair after injury. It is designed to be an interface between the nerve and surrounding tissue and to create a conduit for axonal growth across a nerve gap.

When hydrated, NeuraGen® Nerve Guide is an easy to handle, soft, pliable, nonfriable, porous collagen tube. NeuraGen® Nerve Guide is single use only and provided sterile.

  • Biocompatible – Manufactured from purified collagen, minimizing pathogenic1 and immunogenic concerns
  • Pore Structure – Specific pore size and semi-permeable architecture allowing for nutrient diffusion and retention of representative Nerve Growth Factor
  • Controlled Rate of Resorption – Resorbs in approximately 9-12 months allowing for nerve regeneration to occur prior to degradation
  • Flexible and Pliable – Accommodates the movement of joints and tendons surrounding the nerve without kinking
  • Compression Resistant – Fully compliant with elastic rebound to original shape upon compression

The device is typically used during hand surgery and/or nerve reconstruction. It is intended to be chemically degraded and typically absorbed via natural body processes. It is also known as a nerve sheath, nerve cuff, nerve protector, nerve conduit, or a nerve wrap.
